She passed away in December 2008 from cancer. I am her oldest daughter, I have a brother named Paul Slate (Dallas, Texas) and sister Jennifer (Slate) Mckoy that lives outside of Houston. |

| Comments: | Hi, we just found out that our last name is spelled Kopecki. When my great-grand father arrived into Canada, the immigratation changed it to Kopetski or some Kopetzki. My great grandfather's name was Peter and his brother Martinus. Their father's name was Wendzel. Maybe your great grandfather and mine were cousins? They came from Rosch, Czernowitz, which is part of the Ukraine now. If you have more information about our history, I would love to hear from you. We just had a family reunion, we had 162 attending out of 302. There are many relatives in Saskatchawan. Our family spoke German, not Polish. But, my grandfather and siblings did speak Polish as well. Take care. |

Well, since then I've graduated high school (2008), earned my vocational certificate in Collision Repair (2008), started earning my degree in Paralegal Studies, started training toe become a Tax CPA, and most importantly, have gotten married. My new last name is "Robinson". My husband Thomas is in the military, and we are currently stationed in Jacksonville, FL. We lived here in Kosciusko but in the early 50's moved to San Antonio. I personally lived there for 50 years now retired and moved back to Kosciusko,Texas. I found out about this website from a Mary Kopecki who is a friend to my sister Lorene Cansler living in San Antonio. You have no idea how many relatives we all have. It must be in the thousands. They had 4 children Michael(b. abt. 1904), Helen (b. abt. 1906),Joseph (b. abt. 1907) and my great grandfather John V. Jr. (b. 1910 d.1980). I am looking for any info related to them I thought if I posted here I might get a lead. | Comments: | Hello Everyone and welcome! I have finally, hopefully, found a way to keep the guest book for your comments without our being spammed! I do suggest that if you want your email to remain private (well, as private as the Internet allows), then write it as I've done above (using the word "at" instead of the @ symbol). Other than that word of caution - which may not be necessary if I've coded this correctly! - you should be able to post and interact JUST LIKE IN THE DAYS OF YORE! So come on everyone, let's hear from you. Tell me what you think of having a Family Reunion dinner this year. Anyone want to come to San Francisco? ;-) |
